Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4) Gecko/20090423 Firefox/3.5b4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1b4) Gecko/20090423 Firefox/3.5b4 Middle clicking pastes text in Linux, and doing it in a Linux browser window (with focus on anything but a text field) makes Firefox navigate or search for the contents of the clipboard. This is extremely disruptive to laptop browsing, as I must hold down the middle mouse button to scroll. If I press the middle mouse button and let it up too quickly, Firefox will navigate away from my current page. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use Linux and highlight text to put it in the clipboard (e.g. "blah") 2. Middle click in a Firefox browser area Actual Results: Firefox attempts to navigate to the contents of the clipboard, searching for the text or going to the URL (e.g. goes to http://blah.com) Expected Results: Firefox behaves like previous versions, and does not navigate to the clipboard contents.

In Linux this preference is by default set to true. Please read http://kb.mozillazine.org/Middlemouse.contentLoadURL
