Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Got to Yahoo mail. 2. open another tab go to gmail. 3. now switch to private browsing. Actual Results: All my other windows are automatically closed. And I am given a fresh start with the new tab with private browsing enabled. Expected Results: I would expect a warning and also have an option to continue my old browsing or choose to loose all data and go to private browsing. I would expect a warning and also have an option to continue my old browsing or choose to loose all data and go to private browsing.
The data isn't actually lost. Leave private browsing mode and the same tabs will show again. There is a warning dialog that is show when you enter private browsing mode. If you are not seeing it, then you told it not to show it to you anymore. Go to about:config in the location bar, filter for "browser.privatebrowsing.dont_prompt_on_enter", right click and toggle it to true. Toggle between private browsing again.
