Kettle is an open source framework that we're using to populate the metrics DB behind the new SUMO metrics dashboard.  In advance of testing the metrics DB on stage, we need to have it installed.

This is a two step process:

Install Java 1.6 or higher from: http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=31610 

Install pentaho from: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=140317&package_id=186321&release_id=682677

Do you guys need the spoon UI to be accessible on this machine? Is there a reason why we're putting the UI on a server? Or am I missing the point entirely?

Actually we're not putting kettle on the machine for the GUI part, we're putting it there because it runs the kjb files via the command line and converts them into actions on the DB(s).
