User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090615 Firefox/3.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090615 Firefox/3.5 Auto-complete menu on a page where the tab has been ripped out to a second monitor appears on origin monitor Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Firefox 3.5 RC1 on one monitor 2. Rip out a tab containing a form to another monitor 3. Start typing content that is stored in browser cache (so as to activate autocomplete menu) 4. Observe menu Actual Results: Drop down menu appeared stuck to the right hand side of the left hand (origin) monitor Expected Results: Should have appeared underneath the textfield in the right monitor This is specific to RC1 of FF 3.5
Confirmed under Vista/FF 3.5.1 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:18.104.22.168) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Confirmed under XP Pro SP 3 HTTP_USER_AGENT Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:22.214.171.124) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) I have same behavior as mentioned in the first post. The only thing I would add is that moving the original browser (from which the tab was moved) to the second monitor corrects the issue. This seems to indicate that the auto-complete menu is programmed to display in the parent window of the original browser.
WFM on latest Nightly (build ID:20130808030205) and on Firefox 23 (build ID: 20130730113002)
