User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009032712 Firefox/3.0.8 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1pre) Gecko/20090617 Shiretoko/3.5pre browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick;true is default on Linux. when middleclicking and something is selected you get an annoying "this url is not valid" alert box. When someone enters an invalid url into the address box they dont even get this because ot the auto-google for bad urls. This should be changed where if the url is not valid the user should not be bothered, as spare clicks are common. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.set browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick;true (default linux) 2.select something that is not a url 3.middle click somewhere Actual Results: 4. annoying alert box Expected Results: 5. nothing

The pref for this is middlemouse.contentLoadURL, not browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick.
