Attachment: screenshot showing both dialog

one is a sheet saying : No recipient where specified.

The other one a dialog box gathering information on the email

STR :
 * New email
 * do not specify to, cc or bcc
 * add a subject
 * a few line
 * press send.

* see both dialog while I only expect the no recipient one.

This is a more general issue. The "Assembling mail information" dialog with progress bar shows also up, to name another example, when an attached file was deleted before sending (and likely in other situations as well).

Not restricted to Mac OSX, all platforms (confirmed on WinXP).

Rsx11 do you still see this , because I don't. WFM but I have mail send in the background set.

No longer reproducible on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20110929 Thunderbird/7.0.1 either, I only get the "No recipients" message when using your original scenario, no "Assembling mail information" either when deleting an attachment file prior to sending. I can't find any bug which may have fixed this, so just -> WFM.
