I have a mail account with several folders and sub-folders which receives
100,200 mail per day. I use filters to dispatch the messages in the sub folders.
But every now and often, some message are put in other folder than the one I
choose in the filter. The filters I use are very basic (subject contains... and
sender contains...)

can you come up with a reproducable test case? It's hard to know what to fix
with the information provided..
More info needed:
1. Please specify which build you are using
2. Can you give a specific case of when a message filter failed? (ie. Message
titled "Blah Blah" did not get filtered to the "Blah" folder. At the time,
other messages matching this criteria got filtered, etc.)
3. When the filter fails, does the message remain in the Inbox? Would the
message be matching two filters (by chance) and only the first filter gets
triggered (which you're not expecting)?
Leave unconfirmed pending info.

1. M17 build 2000080712
2. one example : a message named "[CC21] something..." normally triggers a
filter in the form "Subject contains [CC21]" and goes to a Cybercafe/CC21
folder. But I found it my XSL folder (where all message from a XSL mailing-list
goes"
One thing strange though : this message was counted in the total number of
message of the CC21 folder (I saw that there was one unraed message but I
couldn't find it in the CC21 folder, it was in another folder)
3. As I wrote, the message goes in another folder. I checked the message and my
filters : it shouldn't have triggered 2 filters.
PS : next time the problems comes up, I'll try to find a reproducible test case

sconest@netscape.net - have you been seeing this problem with recent builds of
Mozilla?

Yes it still happens sometimes.
The only thing I'm sure is that it only happens when I have a lot of message (>
100). When there are a few, I never came across this problem.

I currently run test over a few days because it's not easily reproducable.
I'll post a new comment as soon as I've finished.
