User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060215 Firefox/3.0.10, Ant.com Toolbar 1.3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060215 Firefox/3.0.11, Ant.com Toolbar 1.3
After resuming the computer from sleep mode, and if I left Firefox open, I notice that the computer will be very slow. After checking the task manager, I notice that the firefox.exe process consumes 500M+ of RAM despite having no page rendered (only blank tab).
I have to kill the process and relaunch it.
Problem continues to appear after computer restart.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Firefox
2. Put the computer into sleep mode
3. Wake the computer back
4. Notice the problem
Actual Results:
The process will be over greedy in memory and saturate the RAM
Expected Results:
Consume a reasonable amount of memory

Could you also report on the amount of cpu Firefox is consuming? Also, if you try to load a page does it work?
CPU consumption is 0%.
I can successfully load a page, but due to the intense memory allocation, browsing is quite slow (the OS itself is slow).
Please note that the problem only occurs when I wake up my computer in the morning after a complete overnight sleep (it cannot be reproduced by putting the PC in sleep mode and waking it up 10 seconds after - hence my delayed comment).

The "overnight sleep" is your computer set to hibernate? The amount of time the machine is sleeping shouldn't make any sort of difference. If it's hibernating overnight rather than sleeping that would explain the difference you're seeing.
No, it's just the same sleep state (S3). However, as told before I can't reproduce the bug with a short term sleep.

Yes, this is the same problem I am facing from last one week after updating with latest version of firefox. End of the day, I don't close the browser, at least 4 to 5 tabs would be opened, next day morning, I will not be able to view the same browser tabs, I have to kill the process and then restart again. Before killing the memory usage would be around 500mb or 800mb. Not sure why this is happening.
The tab opened would be different emails, like gmail, yahoo, icq2go, and couple other browser pages. None of them would use any kind of memory, because I wouold logout all in built chats in yahooo and gmail before end of the day.
So, I think it is not because of the web interface chat too.

Reporter, please retest with Firefox 3.6.12 or later in a fresh profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). Also update your plugins (flash, adobe reader, java, quicktime, silverlight, etc/) Go to the developer's website and download the latest version from there.
