User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/530.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/2.0.172.33 Safari/530.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.8) Gecko/2009032609 Firefox/3.0.8 If I go to compose an email then clicks "To" it opens my contacts list. If I select "All Contacts" from the group selection drop down list it loads them in the pane below. Scrolling through this list I find that in the "M" contacts they become covered by a black box and this continues all the way to the bottom of the list. I can still click on a contact that is obscured by the black box and it will correctly load them as recipients, but you cannot see who you are selecting in advance. The workaround is to use the search box above the group selector and type in partial names. This appears to render all contacts searched for correctly. Confirmed the bug on FF 3.0.8 and 3.0.11 on Windows XP SP3. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have a lot of contacts in gmail contacts 2. login to gmail 3. compose a message 4. click "To" 5. Select "All Contacts" 6. Scroll through the list Actual Results: About half-way down the list of over 1700 contacts they will become covered by a black box that continues through the rest of the list making those contacts invisible, but selectable. Expected Results: all contacts should be visible in the list Seems to work correctly in Chrome.
I can't confirm this since I only have a couple dozen contacts. QA, any of you have a huge contact list?

I can confirm this bug. I have tried it on several computers with Firefox 3.0.x and also with the newer 3.5.x. It has the exact same behavior. It only happens on PC, not Mac. Also, the actual number for me was 863 contacts. Any after that number are blacked out. You can still click the black bars and the contact is inserted, but you can't see beneath the black curtain of doom. By the way, we use Google Apps for Education, so it isn't just gmail (I know they're the same). To cause the problem, do the following: 1. On a PC open Firefox and log into google email 2. Click Compose Mail 3. Click any of the To, CC or BCC headings. 4. In the pop-up window select All Contacts from the pull down menu at the top. 5. Scroll down, the list will be covered in black after some number of addresses (after the 863rd entry on my address list). It works correctly in Chrome, Safari, and IE on PC
