You have to go one level down to see new discussions. In order to be more discoverable we should indicate the forum threads that have new activity on the entry page.

This will require some code work to get a list of all "New" forum posts per user.

also we have removed the recent forum topics snippet from the frontpage, but users are able to bring this back on a individual base.

Marcia, can we get a little more information on what you mean? The recent forum topics snippet shows the most recent ones, but not post per thread. The threads currently show when the last post was added to them. Do you mean threads should be propagated to the top of its specific forum depending on which has the most recently posted post?
