Let's use the version of the Firefox logo with the drop shadow on the mozilla.com homepage - it'll match the way it's displayed on the download page and elsewhere on the site. I know that there are issues with the shadow on IE6, so I'm fine with keeping it as is for those users.
Target Milestone: 3.5 → ---
In adding the shadow version of the logo, we've switch to a 24-bit PNG with alpha transparency. For IE5.5/6 (and only for IE5.5/6, we're including a Javascript hack for the transparency to work). This has the nice side-effect of having a better quality logo if people cut-paste it out of the page here rather than using the proper files from the Logo Guide. Fixed in trunk r28935. Merged to firefox3.5 tag in r28937. This is working well for me in all major browsers, but I'd appreciate a run-through by QA if possible since it's a home-page change.

Looks fantastic, thanks Steven. Will let the QA folks provide official verification.
Attaching a screenshot of IE 6, because it's typically the most problematic (lack of alpha-transparency support in PNGs). Looks fine here.
Verified FIXED; tested on: * Opera 9.64 * Safari 4 * Safari 3.2.3 * Firefox 2.0.20 * Firefox 3.0.11 * IE 6 / 7 / 8 * Google Chrome
