Here is a run of fennecmark without this change: http://people.mozilla.org/~blassey/results-0.html and two with it: http://people.mozilla.org/~blassey/results-1.html http://people.mozilla.org/~blassey/results-5.html If I interpret these results correctly, this is an across the board perf win for panning, panning lag, lag while loading and zooming lag. Also, my stop watch timing of start up showed a 1-2s improvement.
