My patch seems to work for win32 desktop.
I'm running into issues on OSX desktop packaging.
I'll give that another shot and then may end up just landing the win32 portion, as Seth said osx wasn't as high a priority for localizers.

Attachment: patch for skipping xpt-linking on Mac

This patch just skips the xpt-linking commands when run on a Mac. Those commands are the reason you see the errors.
