Does this happen in safe mode? And can you reproduce this using the new Firefox 3.5?
Mostly not: it depends on add-on and firefox shall contain old version so upon startup dinds new version and suggest update. I can reproduc this if you send me link on some old bersion of on of trusted plugins for replacing in firefox and following update.
Here is an extension I have on addons.mozilla.org (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3082) Download an older version http://uctb.googlecode.com/files/undo_closed_tabs_button-3.5.0-fx.xpi and it will offer you an upgrade for version 3.5.1. Those are for Firefox 3.5, I'm assuming you upgraded to 3.5 right? If you can reproduce, can you also try with a new profile?
Hi Kurt, what I do: 1. update FF to 3.5 using Help->Update menu 2. install your [old] XPI 3. restart FF 4. FF says that one new extension installed 5. check that I have checked option "[x] check for Add-ons" on Advanced->Updates page in Options 6. restart FF 7. nothing happened FF 3.5 doesnt check installed add-ons versions. I suppose this functionality was roken on 3.5. Can I produce some top secret detailed log on FF start process? :)
