From the project plan: 'The goal is for users to be able to untar and ./install.sh and be ready to go. The installer would need to take care of database user creation, locations of database server(s), memcached servers (if used), etc.'

James: I know there's the webdev "Get involved page" which refers to helping out SUMO, but I'm not sure if that's the best place to for this: we should have one detailed page for getting involved with SUMO, which would include setting up a local dev environment, tools of the trade, Mozilla people to ping. The script for this and the wiki page (https://wiki.mozilla.org/Support/SUMO_install_process) would be of great help. What do you think, should we start a wiki page on that, or something of the sort?
We should get the SUMO Install Process page on the wiki up to date, along with the database schema (bug 535841). This bug is completely unrelated to what's on the web dev blog, but that page (which points to Bugzilla, the wiki, the source, the tests and lists some contact people) lists several major web development projects. I've no intention of removing SUMO from that list. But if you want to update the SUMOdev and SUMO install process pages on WikiMo, go for it.
(In reply to comment #2) > This bug is completely unrelated to what's on the web dev blog Yeah, sorry, it is offtopic. > But if you want to update the SUMOdev and SUMO install process pages on WikiMo, > go for it. Yes, I forgot we do have some info here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Support:Sumodev#Get_Involved I will update that soon to try and make it more useful.
I am trying to setup the SUMO dev enviroment. According to https://wiki.mozilla.org/Support/SUMO_install_process this should be at #502089 where it is not to be found and I have no clue how to access users dirs (as mentioned in that bug). How can I get hold of a basic dump so I can start?
