User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 Saving of latest file version of addons - after update, reverts to old version When you install an addon update, it will work for the next session after reloading Firefox. But then, when you reload later, it will say the OLD version, and it behaves as such. It has happened to me with "official" addons such as GreaseFire, etc. Only way to temp fix: COMPLETLY remove the old addon, restart Firefox, REINSTALL the updated addon. It is a lot of trouble. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Have an old version of an addon 2. Update it 3. Reload Firefox 4. Reload again 5. Should say the OLD version of the app, and that there is a newer version. Actual Results: It told me to update and restart Firefox again, only to happen a few sessions later. It is very annoying. Expected Results: Retained the updated addon. No crashes, no weird themes, happens to all addons I have tried.

What add-on are you referring to and what versions were you updating from and to? Can you attach copies of extensions.ini, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf and extensions.log from your profile folder: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles

I have even tried a clean install of Firefox with no other addons except GreaseFire and GreaseMonkey, and the error still happens. extensions.cache: http://pastebin.com/m4f8dcd7e extensions.ini: http://pastebin.com/m49cebcb9 extensions.rdf: http://pastebin.com/m19be1325 Thanks.

I believe it is a problem with Greasefire; it is the only addon that does it. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8352
