A locale leader asked me why some edits were not appearing in the l10n Dashboard under "Needs Updating". I explained that only edits in which the "Alert Translators" checkbox was used appear under "Needs Updating", and that monitoring ever en-US can be done by watching categories.
It would be nice if https://support.mozilla.com/kb/all+Knowledge+Base+articles could do that. (identify articles in which the 'last updated' date on the en-US version is later than that of the locale being viewed.)

How would these articles be indicated? What would be the status string and color?

Sorry, not a duplicate, but we fixed it by adding another level of edits. I guess it's of no use to follow every change, since English spelling mistakes won't be of any use to localizers, but if it's needed, following every change is tracked in bug 618940
