Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5

When I depressed the Advance icon in “OPTIONS” I got the following error:

Crash Reporter
▸ The application had a problem and crashed.
▸ Unfortunately the crash reporter is unable to submit a report for this crash.
▸ Details: The application did not identify itself.

My question:
▸ Is there an option or something I have to turn on in order for a crash report and dump to be created?

▸ When I was reviewing the addon updates for the new release of Firefox I got
     the following message:

Mozilla Crash Reporter
▸ FireFox Had a problem and crashed. We’ll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts.
▸ Unfortunately the crash reporter is unable to submit a crash report.
▸ Details: The application did not leave a crash dump file.

▸ I also get this error four or five times a week. When it occurred today, I was searching “OPTIONS” and “ADVANCE SETTINGS” for a hook to turn on
     the dump facility.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Depress the Advance icon in "OPTIONS"
2.
3.
Actual Results:
If I remember, this problem started occurring when I upgraded from 2.x to 3.x, but I am not absolutely sure. I always update my system, when ever you notify me of a new release.

Expected Results:
I expected a dump to be generated and forward to FireFox support.
If you have Google Gears installed, this is a dupe of bug 502403.

I do not have Google Gears installed on my system. There was no crash ID in any of the message, in fact the above messages are the actual output.

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Mozilla+Crash+Reporter will explain how to get a crash id.

I ran "%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\". The folder 'Crash Reports' does not contain either of the two subfolders: 'pending' and 'submitted'. It does contain a file 'LastCrash' which contains '1247091531'.

BartamNA do you still see this problem? Have you reinstalled, or tried a new profile?
