Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9) Gecko/2008052906 Firefox/3.0

This problem has occurred on multiple versions of Firefox and I have finally figured out the cause.

When I drag a new URL to an existing bookmark folder that has sub-folders the sub-folder closes because the following occurs:
As I drag the URL over the parent folder the folder opens as normal, if the parent drop down list is near the right side of the window and as I drag over to a sub-folder, it opens to the left of the parent folder (rather
then the right side) with a subsequent small gap between the parent list and sub-folder list.
Now, as I continue to drag the new bookmark to drop it into the sub-folder it passes over the gap and Firefox detects the pass over of the main window and closes the sub-folder drop down list!
If the parent folder is to left side of the main Firefox window, and the sub-folder opens to the right side, its list overlaps the

parent slightly, list so there is no gap between the two lists and I can then drop the new URL into the sub-folder.
Sure hope this is a clear description of the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Drag URL to bookmark folder that drops down on the right side of main window.
2.Continue to drag the URL to put into a sub-folder (when sub-folder list is to the left of the parent list
3.The sub-folder list will close due to the gap between the parent and sub-folder lists.
Actual Results:
The sub-folder list will close, as will the parent folder.

Expected Results:
Dropping the new URL into the sub-folder.

None
