Description

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; FDM; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)
Build Identifier: 3 0 6

my graphics card decided to start today on 16 color with resource conflict, i ran firefox to get some drivers and it keept crashing as i browse with the error "the application did not leave a crash dump file" start the above URL on ANOTHER tab but change to the tab you started with (even a blank one) then when the Url above is done loading go to it's tab and you will encounter a message and firefox will close. if you have no tabs and just browse to the URL then firefox dissappears. this happens on and off with other sites (ie, happens when you are about to download NVidia drivers but the rest of the nvidia site is fine) but every attempt on the asus page.

nvida: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24_2.html
when you see if it is fixed try this link as well it's the nvidia driver download page.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.see details
2.
3.
Actual Results:
dissappear or message

Expected Results:
continue browsing site/download

Geforce GTX 7800 with error "Memory Range A0000000 - AFFFFFFF not available."

i have some suggestions for firefox:
can the tabs not move around when i close tabs? i move the mouse to close another tab to close that but the tabs move around to equally share the space so its hard to quickly close tabs. so can they freeze while mouse is in tab bar?

another is autofill, i type something into Google search and it comes up with suggestions (this includes results page where the thing i have searched for is in the search box by default)... but if i happen to move the mouse as i type and it happens to move over the search suggestions, it highlights them (when mouse is moved away they remain hilighted), so when i press "enter" it searches for the suggestion rather than what i typed!!!! so i suggest these two:
A)when mouse moves over suggestions they highlight, when mouse moves off suggestions the highlight dissappears
B) when mouse moves over suggestions they highlight and user presses keys the highlight dissappears, when mouse clicks another suggestion it is inserted into field, or when user presses "down" key highlight reappears.
First, please update your Firefox version to 3.5 or later. I can go to the asus page just fine with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5. Also, please give a stacktrace, https://developer.mozilla.org/En/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report.
As for your suggestions, please open new bugs for that, as we can only have one bug or enhancement per bug id.
Summary: firefox on 16 color display card → firefox on crashes 16 color display card
Version: unspecified → 3.0 Branch

the text under the line is my first comment but just now it happened again with my good ram stick and with the display working fine with only the "about" box open.
i'll try firefox 3.5

=======================

was that in 16 color mode? (try safe mode?) IE 6 worked fine i used that instead of FFX. i thought it was the flash player causing it or something.

i just found that a ram stick died which could have intensified the problem.
I mean Firefox safe mode.

i removed the faulty nvidia, and ram stick as well.
i have reproduced the bug again, but now in Windows Safe Mode
now running an ati 9200 se (pci) with 1Gig mem.
it may make a difference if i tell you the OS: windows 2000.

i reproduced the bug again in FFX safe mode while in windows safemode, going again to http://au.asus.com/ (i ticked none of the "permanent" check boxes)

just upgraded to 3.5 and it still does it (went to windows safemode)
so thats three new features for FFX3.6 ;)
lost my 3.0 theme tho :( (classic compact)
Have you been able to get a stack trace, following the instructions in comment 1?

Running Windows2000 @ 16 colors? Flash Player 10 doesn't run on that OS at any color depth. Flash Player 9 on Windows 2000 runs on these supported browser versions:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, Firefox 1.x, Firefox 2.x, Mozilla 1.x, Netscape 7.x or later, AOL 9, Opera 7.11 or later
