There have been a bunch of examples of this in tweets recently: http://twitter.com/gmalta/statuses/2632006883 http://twitter.com/latitude13/statuses/2610172249 are the two most recent, but those of us following the keyword "camino" in English-language tweets have noticed at least five more in the past week. I'm filing this as UNCO because I don't know what specific combination of factors is causing it, but it's almost certainly bad UA sniffing of some sort. Do we have any contacts at Twitter?
(In reply to comment #0) > I don't know what specific combination of factors is causing it Isn't it pretty safe to assume that it's because we have the name and version of a now-obsolete version of Firefox in our UA? If so "bad" is not really fair; we are trying to fool people who look for Firefox out of ignorance, and this is a case where a site is legitimately looking for Firefox and gets tripped up. This sort of thing is something we knew would happen (albeit very rarely), and accepted. The way for them to work around it would be to specially detect and screen out Camino, not to switch to some kind of "right" detection as in most cases of sniffing.

I believe we've had a couple people test it with Camino 1.6.8 and be unable to reproduce the problem, but again, since I don't use Twitter, I don't know specifically what part of the process is generating the upgrade message.
A screenshot is here: http://twitpic.com/cqrsc We still don't know exactly how to trigger this, though.
