Currently, SM:Build Config has assignee:build-config@seamonkey.bugs and QA:build-config@core.bugs. That makes absolutely no sense at all: for a bug which someone takes, leaving it in that product/component because it really is a SeaMonkey bug, it then becomes watched by people trying to watch Core, and not watched by people trying to watch SeaMonkey (and something filed with an assignee would never be seen by someone trying to watch SeaMonkey). Having build-config@core.bugs involved at all might make some sense based on the historical way that SM:whatever was treated like (or, *was*) core, except that nobody has ever bothered to do a mass reassign on them, so core watchers are only seeing recentish (post-2004) bugs, and not the ones from before anything but SM existed. Since most of the old bugs that are really core are also really uninteresting things like "build blackwood on IRIX" (which is why nobody has yet moved them), probably the thing to do is just treat it like any other component: assignee:nobody@mozilla.org, QA:build-config@seamonkey.bugs, and then the mass reassign that should have been done a couple of times already by now. However, I'm not sure who has to sign off on doing that.

IIRC, at least back when we created the new component list for the suite product, the core build config owner at that time (chase) requested to have build-config@core.bugs on there, but I think the solution you propose is better nowadays.
