User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
When I visit www.msn.com and www.uk.msn.com and open any link on this webpage in a new tab by middle clicking the mouse button, Firefox opens the link in the current tab. I have noticed this problem for many years. It did happen with some other webpages but I can't recall those. This problem does not occur on any other webpages apart from those mentioned. Please don't give me the "did you customize your keyboard keys/mouse" or "did I customise Firefox etc...". The answer is no I didn't.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit www.msn.com.
2. Press the middle mouse button to open links in new tab.
3. Watch as Firefox annoyingly opens the links in the current tab.
Actual Results:
Firefox annoyingly opens the links in the current tab.
Expected Results:
Firefox should happily open the links in the new tab.
Tested on the latest developer builds, same problem is present.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5
Works for me. Firefox happily opened the links in a new tab.
Please follow the steps at http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode#How_to_start_Firefox_in_Safe_Mode to test if it's reproducible in safe mode and comment on your results.
I also noticed the .NET one-click assistant extension is installed going by your user-agent string. Not sure if it's related but you can uninstall it using instructions from https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Cannot+uninstall+an+add-on?bl=n#Microsoft_NET_Framework_Assistant

Looks like they are preventing the middle click with script. When I middle click on a link it is loaded in the current tab. If I turn off Javascript everything is fine.
Using ctrl + left click works for new tabs with Javascript enabled.

Marking INVALID because I think this is intentional from page authors.
Use ctrl+left click or addon like NoScript to disable the script causing this.
