Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.0.11) Gecko/2009060214 Firefox/3.5
When using the Link to the Firefox preferences, a window shows up, but there's nothing in it but a white area. It doesn't disappear when waiting for the real preferences window to appear.
Also, there is a problem with the preferences of some Addons, which also don't show up, e.g. WebMail Notifier, Speed Dial.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open preferences
Actual Results:
A white window appeared.
Expected Results:
the preferences should have appeared

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/safe+mode
Can you try safe mode, or disabling any add-ons you may have.
Perhaps even a new profile.
If the problem turns out to be an extension, can you notify the author, and say that this fixed it?
Thanks.

I tried safe mode and a new profile (in deleting the /.mozilla-folder in my root-home). None of that fixed the problem. But I just saw the following output in my console:
(Gecko:4796): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Veraltete Funktion. Änderungen an der MIME -Datenbank durch den Benutzer werden nicht mehr unterstützt.
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server

Don't know if that helps...
Ohai,
I filled a bug not entirely the same but possibly not entirely different.
Have a look: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=527353

Hello. Is this still relevant, or can it be closed?

I guess it can be closed. I don't have the problem right now and it doesn't seem like it was very widespread when I had it.
