When I initialize a new project language on the project admin page, the log file says: "ERROR Failed to initialize (ar): 'TranslationProjectNonDBState' object has no attribute 'scanpofiles'" ... and the initialized language keeps saying 0 strings. However, when clicking "rescan project files" on the project locale's page, (.../ar/amo/admin.html?scan_files=1) the po files are scanned as expected. So this may be a relatively easy fix.
Oops, I meant to file this upstream. It's bug 1055 over there (http://bugs.locamotion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1055). Closing this, as it's a Pootle bug.
