Go to the Bugzilla Query Kitchen (Bugzilla->Get summary reports), Product-All, Output-Bug Counts, Links to bugs and Banner checked, hit Continue. Expected: a graph or count should show up on the page. Actual: only the page title and date shows up. Tried with NN 4.7 on Linux, Mozilla daily on Linux, IE4 on Windows 98. Same thing, always.

It appears to me that the connection is not closed, and that it is probably still generating the report and just hasn't sent any data yet. However, after 5 minutes, I gave up waiting for it to load. If it really takes that long to generate the report, it should probably put some text there first something to the effect of "please wait while I generate the report (this might take a while)" or something like that.

To further specify the above test case, I set Chart datasets to RESOLVED. At the moment I get a connection timeout after 3 minutes and I do not see anything of the page - which of course could also be a problem of my web connection. When I tried yesterday, at about 15:30 GMT, the page load actually finished, and only the image was missing (as described by the reporter). The page source pointed to http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/data/mining/Browser_RESOLVED%3A.gif , to which access is forbidden. If this is really a problem of access permission, then the number of people who can fix this decreases radically :) I vote for this because this was the first thing that went wrong when I showed bugzilla to my boss.

As Terry Weissman noted in news://news.mozilla.org/38F5D90D.F40E8C1A%40geocast.com (dated 2000-04-13), this should probably be assigned to dmose@mozilla.org or endico@mozilla.org, since it only concerns the bugzilla at http://bugzilla.mozilla.org . cc'ing dmose - please remove the cc if I am wrong.

Note that the default Apache configuration (which is in use at Mozilla.org) is to give up on CGIs that don't return any output for 5 minutes. Reassigning to endico, as I'm finishing up my bugzilla work.

OK, we'll leave this as the b.m.o. specific issue, and the Bugzilla issue (perf) as bug #63249.

This baby is fixed due to the bugzilla upgrade picking up the fix to bug #63249.
