Currently dragging a hyperlink from a page into a file manager window, creates a link/shortcut file in the destination folder. It would be very convenient to have a D&D operation download the resource pointed to, as if "wget URL" was called in that folder.

Images have behavior similar to the one proposed (dragging an image downloads it). And IIRC, Konkeror used to do it when dragging links.

I suggest the modifier key "Control" for this behavior in order to keep the current D&D effect unmodified.

Wish we had a better name for shell integration so bugs with code outside of it weren't misfiled (the shell integration code doesn't handle this)... moving over to general for triage to get this filed into the correct component

Unacceptable. This bug cannot be a duplicate of another bug which was filed later. That bug has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. Both have been closed without resolution.

This bug must be reopened imidiatly. A duplicate can never preceed the original. This bug is the original, not the duplicate.

You can create batch downloads, download torrents, preview ZIP files before they're downloaded and even deselect files you don't want from the compressed folder, download entire websites, resume broken downloads, run automatic virus checks on downloads, quickly control the bandwidth allocation for all downloads, and download all links from the clipboard. https://protrackinghub.com/
