Hi all:  We figured it would be easier to start a new bug for the Affiliate buttons for Mozilla Service Week.

We'll need to update the various button graphics:  http://www.spreadfirefox.com/affiliates/homepage?category=54&locale=41#getbuttons

I can pull everything from the Mozilla header translation for the majority of the buttons, but did want to get a translation for this text (attaching the button for your reference):

For French, the translation we asked for wasn't so great (too close to English and not conveying a really positive message) , we talked about it with Cédric and we would like it changed to this one which is better for our audience:

if you wonder why the change, it is because the word "communauté" is not a positive value in French speaking Europe, it relates to not being integrated in society. In English, the above replacement slogan would be "Change the world! Start with your neighbourhood"

Michael and I want to change a sentence in the German strings:

"Verbessern Sie Ihre Gemeinschaft." > "Helfen Sie Ihrem Umfeld."

New German version:

The old sentence sounded too "translated", maybe the same problem as in the old French translation.

Is it possible to change the buttons in this late stage of production?

Hey there:  We're having a designer update it so there is no need to worry.  But it will delay this particular button from being loaded up to Sfx.  Hopefully I will get the new one on Monday :)

As per Elisabetta's comment #25 in bug #502166 here's the new Italian translation:

Fai la differenza!
Arricchisci la tua comunità

(Differences since the previous translation: removed the comma after "settembre", removed the period after "comunità")

More, the Italian shortening for the word "settembre" is "sett."
This means that where the shortening is needed the sentence must be:
