Is there a firefox.exe process in the task manager? Try to kill it if it is there, or restart your computer, then try to start Firefox. Then, restart it if it is not installed.
Version: unspecified → 3.5 Branch
Yes, I checked and realized that there were a firefox.exe process in the task manager. But the question is why a firefox.exe process remained in task manager? I closed all instances and new windows and check for other application may be used firefox... . Restart computer or kill firefox.exe process are not good solution especially for non advanced users.....!
Oftentimes, an extension will cause firefox to not close completely. That is the usual cause of a process remaining after closing Firefox.
This is WFM on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1) Gecko/20090624 Firefox/3.5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729). Could you possibly have had another window open that prevented Firefox from restarting? LIke maybe the download manager or some other firefox window? Although none of those *should* keep the process from restarting, we need better steps to reproduce this bug.
As I said before I've always checked for another window may be open or any download manager .... I should say that I never saw such problem on firefox 18.104.22.168. I said firefox 22.214.171.124 because I recently switched to firefox 3.5 and I used firefox 126.96.36.199 so long and more than firefox 3.5 ....
