User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: 1.8.20090.60502 I can receive mail from ISP. However, when I try to Send mail i am prompted to enter my password. This never happened before today. When I enter it a dialogue box informs me that connection to SMTP server smpt1.nf.sympatico.ca failed. I contacted my ISP tech support and was informed that they had several reports of this problem and all reporting users were using Thunderbird. The problem did not happen with other mail clients. I verified this by using Windows Mail Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.compose Email and hit send button 2.asked for SMTP password 3.Cannot connect to smtp1.nf.sympatico.ca Actual Results: The above reported problem just started today. Expected Results: After checking account settings. They were correct. The problem persists. Worked normally to send message as it did before today

comment #5 is about Fedora 11 x86_64 version of thunderbird. I am using czech language (cs_CZ) localization. After debugging it little bit I found out that only thunderbird beta 4 with czech localization does not work. when I run "LANG=en_US thunderbird" everything works. Other localizations (fr, pl, sk, de) works as well. I have tried official mozilla linux build of beta4 on other opensuse 11.1 system and czech version fails, other works ok. On the other hand czech localized windows version of beta4 works ok. Bug is in czech localized linux version of thunderbird beta4.

This a known bug that has been fixed since. RC1 will work for you or a en_US build will too.
