User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1pre) Gecko/20090717 SeaMonkey/2.0b1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1pre) Gecko/20090717 SeaMonkey/2.0b1

When upgrading from seamonkey2.0a3 to seamonkey2.0b1, some subfolders from my imap gmail account got missing.
I´ve tried to recreate account but no success.

The problem seems to happen with labels that represent subfolders (gmail pattern like "folder/subfolder"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create subfolder on imap account
2. configure seamonkey to synchronize email
Actual Results:
subfolders are missing, and even if its manually created on seamonkey, the synchronizatrion doesn't occur.

Expected Results:
subfolders should be listed and have its messages downloaded
> some subfolders from my imap gmail account got missing.

Does it mean "some subfolders are not listed in subscription list"?

> Actual Results:
> subfolders are missing,
> and even if its manually created on seamonkey, the synchronizatrion doesn't occur.

How did you create the subfolder?
(a) create "folder/subfolder"
(b) create "folder", then create "subfolder" under "folder"
Even "folder" didn't appear at folder pane?

> The problem seems to happen with labels that represent subfolders (gmail pattern like "folder/subfolder"

Gmail Label of "folder/subfolder" is defined but Gmail Label of "folder" is not defined? (In this case, "folder" is represented in Italic, with grayed-out, at folder pane)

Will "+" button(expand button) appear before "folder" at folder pane by "collapse account and re-expand account"?
After "+" button appeared, does "no + button status" occur again?
some responses:

> Does it mean "some subfolders are not listed in subscription list"?

No, they in fact are listed on subscription list, but are not synchronized

> How did you create the subfolder?
> (a) create "folder/subfolder"
> (b) create "folder", then create "subfolder" under "folder"

these folders already existed on my profile since SM1.1, but when they were created, my steps were (b). And yes, "folder" appears on folder pane.

> Gmail Label of "folder/subfolder" is defined but Gmail Label of "folder" is

Both labels are defined: "folder" and "folder/subfolder"

> Will "+" button(expand button) appear before "folder" at folder pane by
> "collapse account and re-expand account"?

"+" button doesn´t appear at all (even collapsing and expanding account).

I could observe no "+" button before "folder" by both (a) and (b) with next build.
But I could see "+" button by collapsing and expanding account.
It's reason why I asked you about "collapsing and expanding account".

Can you reproduce "+ button doesn't appear at all" with newer build?
I have installed the newer build and the same happens: no "+" button at all.

I use Gmail IMAP for testing, and Gmail IMAP puts all mail folders in subscription list(ignores unsubscribe of existent folder, although returns OK to unsubscribe), and Gmail IMAP supports XLIST. These may affect test results.

Non-displayed subfolders are listed in subscription list?
If yes, non-displayed subfolders are checked?
Do you use "Show only subscribed folders" option? (Server Settings/Advanced)

Anyway, get IMAP log, and check IMAP level flow first.

Does Sm issue LIST command etc. for deep level subfolders correctly?
> Non-displayed subfolders are listed in subscription list?

Yes, they are listed

> If yes, non-displayed subfolders are checked?

Yes, they are checked

> Do you use "Show only subscribed folders" option? (Server Settings/Advanced)

yes, but even disabling the option, the results are the same.

Although XLIST says folders have children, the command is not executed for the 3 level: XLIST %/%/% (Stops on %/%).

I could see it in IMAP log for Gmail IMAP, and "no + button" was observed.
("+ button" appeared by collapse/expand in my case though)

It sounds XLIST version of Bug 472129.

FYI.
Bug 494958 is found for same phenomenon as yours, but still no log data is provided.

Quick check result with Sm 2.0b2pre.

I created "AB/CD/EF" (AB, CD under AB doesn't exist) under Gmail IMAP account.
AB with "+" button automatically appeared in folder pane, and AB, AB/CD, AB/CD/EF is normally accessed by expanding folder.
It may be a result of "automatic subscribe by Gmail IMAP".

FYI.
See Bug 495975 for issue of same symptom and test results with Gmail IMAP.
Version: unspecified → Trunk
As written in Bug 495975(Gmail IMAP case), problem didn't occurwith Gmail IMAP if "Show only subscribed folders" is disabled.
lfardin, do you enable "Show only subscribed folders" option? (default=enabled)
If yes, can problem be reproduced with "Show only subscribed folders"=Disabled?
