I don't understand what you're trying to describe. Please write out steps in order of what you're doing, what you get as a result, and what you expected to get. (i.e. if you filled in the blanks for the STR when filing the bug) Please also explain what the screenshot is of, what's wrong in it, and what should be in it.

I think this isn't a bug. It just happens that Firefox is associated to open.htm/.URL/... files.
To solve Black_Ps`problem:
1. Right click on any file (.htm/.URL) associated with Firefox (showing the Firefox logo).
2. On the context menu, click on Properties.
3. On the dialog box that opens up, click on Open with Change...
4. Select Internet Explorer / navigate to iexplore.exe.
5. Repeat for all the file types associated with Firefox that you want to revert to Internet Explorer.
It's a stupid bug. It's a short cut with internet explorer and it's opening in firefox what the??? i think like Bug 513600
If i go and select open with internet explorer it's opening with firefox or tell me to download file, see pic.
Severity: major → critical
Priority: -- → P5
Version: unspecified → 3.5 Branch
Carlos Alén Silva is not working,it will tell me the File Download ,it's a major bug that needs to be fixed.

Black_Ps: You are not explaining your problem very well. If you want help, you're going to have to explain things in much more detail.

The screenshot in comment 6 (attachment 397621 [details]) is NOT a shortcut; it's a saved HTML file. You can open it in any browser to view it. (or Notepad, if you really want) Additionally, .url shortcut files are part of the operating system, not IE itself (though they heavily mix it the operating system, to the chagrin of many people and courts). URL shortcuts, like any other file of any kind, will open in whatever program you tell it to.
Trying to reverse divine what your issue is, I think you're complaining that you set Firefox to be the default browser and you don't know how to change file associations (what program opens what) under Windows? If that's the case, then what you need to know is in comment 3, or more formally here's a Microsoft doc on the topic:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859
Firefox does not set itself to be the default browser or file handler without permission. It seems, however, that a few people do not pay attention to the installation process and leave the checkbox checked when they wouldn't have wanted to. In any case, it is not a bug that it did what you told it to do; you just need to tell it to not do it now, which you're having trouble learning how to do. I'm going to close this one out as INVALID and send you over to the support site:
http://support.mozilla.com/
This is not a support site. Please ask for further help there if you need it and only post back here if there's a verified bug, not just a problem that's affecting you.
Also, please do not complain in other bugs about this one. That's generally considered bad etiquette.

Don't paste me information from google, the problem is that if you set Firefox 3.5 default browser you can't open htm/html files with iexplore anymore. This is a bug.

Of course not; you told Firefox to open them instead. That is not a bug. If you want another browser to do that, then make it the default browser and associate HTML files with it instead.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284456
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/support/faq.aspx
Here, this one has pictures:
http://browsers.about.com/od/56/ss/internet-explorer-8-default-browser.htm
Every browser in existence has the ability to set itself as default and thus open all related files in it. You set Firefox to do this, probably because you didn't read what you were doing during installation. Last I heard, IE didn't even ask. If you want another browser to be default instead, tell it. That's it.
Yes, this is a support issue. If you want to complain that it's too easy to accidentally set Firefox as default, then there's a bug for that somewhere around here already. However, once you've already done that, files are supposed to be associated with it, as that's much of the point. Please read the pages I linked to in this and my previous comments and do not reopen this bug.

I think you really don't get it,with firefox 3.0.14 you can have it as default browser and select a .html file and go at open with internet explorer and it's working, with firefox 3.5 set it as default browser select at default browser, open with internet explorer will not work,i don't wish ie as default, you really can't read or what ? i don't need any support. you don't get it? i can open with open with opera but not internet explorer ,over internet explorer firefox gets over it and opens in firefox.

No, I don't understand you fully, as I said a few times already. Without getting too blunt, your grammar is less than stellar and you are explaining yourself poorly. Spamming and cursing in other bugs is also a great way to not get your point across.

That's kind of backwards. The whole point of having a default browser is to have stuff open in it by default.
> working, with firefox 3.5 set it as default browser select at default
> browser, open with internet explorer will not work,i don't wish ie as
> default,you really can't read or what ? i don't need any support. you don't get

Heh? You want files to open in IE by default but have Firefox as the default browser for other things? If that's really what you want you can set whatever file associations you want. I already pointed you at how to do that in comment 8:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307859
The only other thing I think you could be saying is that you're doing "Open With"->"Internet Explorer" and it's opening in Firefox instead? That wouldn't make much sense, though. You'd probably have something bizarre installed/configured on your system to have it doing that.

Bleck Ps, you are getting close to getting your account requested for denial. Please stop going to other bugs and cursing, spamming, writing poorly, etc. It is a simple problem to change file defaults, maybe you just can't figure it out, but I have no problem with XP, Vista, or 7 running 3.5.2 and trunk.
