contenteditable changes
"hello" "world" into "hell" "world"
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
in this table:
<table border=1><tr>
<td><div contenteditable="true">hello</td>
<td><div contenteditable="true">world</td>
</tr></table>
positioning cursor before the "w" of world and then pressing backspace,
"hello" "world" changes into "hell" "world"
I think this is normal, backspace is supposed to delete whatever is before the cursor position.
What is the behaviour you'd expect for this situation?

I would expect nothing to happen.
