A preference that's of interest to developers, but not to end users, has been
removed from the Preferences dialog. This preference allows a party to designate
a server where the tables used by Forms Manager reside. In order to match up a
user's personal data (stored on his or her own machine) with an online form
that the user wishes to auto-fill, Forms Manager consults tables of commonly
used form field labels such as "firstname," "lastname," etc. An ISP or
other party who's customizing Seamonkey might want to designate its own servers
for this purpose.
Cc'ing Steve Morse, who can surely explain this better than I just did and who
knows how that preference can be manually customized.

Vera described it fine. The actual server address used to reside in the
wallet.Server pref in all.js. But then the i18n group decided that it should be
localizable. So the wallet.Server pref in all.js now points to the
navigator.properties file which contains the actual server adddress.
Accepting until new writer comes on board. Thanks for raising the issue.

Chip -- does this preference sound familiar to you, and if so, is it something
that's manually customizible by ISPs and the like in Netscape 6?

I've not worked with this before, but based on the text it appears the item is
still customizable... just not in the same way it once was.
So if you're documenting how it's done, you're going to have to discuss the
navigator.properties file.

This bug is no longer valid. Sometime last fall (after this bug report was
filed) I made a change whereby the wallet tables no longer get downloaded from a
server -- rather they originate on the client itself and are never updated
dynamically. So this pref is no longer used.
