Bug 495250 introduced the new Firefox 3.5 icons on linux. In the meanwhile, those icons have made it into Fedora 11. One thing I noticed is that the 24x24 icon looks odd on the panel and menu as it uses the whole canvas while all other GNOME icons only use the center 22x22 and keep one pixel free.

Here's a screenshot of the 24x24 icon being used on a standard-size GNOME panel. As you see, the Firefox icon is the only one touching the upper screen border, it's just a bit too big. Solution: take the 22x22 icon, add one pixel to each border and ship that as 24x24 (which is exactly what is done for all other freedesktop theme icons)
No longer relevant with Quantum's new icon.
