User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090717 Fedora/3.5.1-1.fc11 Firefox/3.5.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090717 Fedora/3.5.1-1.fc11 Firefox/3.5.1 Please put back the progress indicator on the mouse cursor during pageload. In fact, please fix progress indicators in general - there are none available by default! It is very frustrating being unable to discern whether a page is loading or the browser has crashed, as the behavior is the same for both conditions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to a page 2. Navigate to another page, preferably one with a long load time, either by clicking a link typing a URL into the address bar and pressing enter 3. Observe the confusion that ensues. Actual Results: I had no idea whether the browser had crashed, as I could not click any other links on the page after navigating elsewhere and my current page was still visible, or if the page was just loading and the browser was working fine. Expected Results: I expected some kind of default progress indicator, preferably in the footer bar as well as on the mouse cursor.
Don't you see the spinner in the loading tab? Might be a dupe of bug 482985.
The spinner in the loading tab does not spin when the page is loading - it's frozen. Why is the spinner/hourglass no longer in the mouse cursor?
Ideally the spinner should not freeze. Things should have improved in this respect on trunk (with Firefox 3.6) thanks to bug 67752. You could give it a try and see if it fixes the freeze. Otherwise it could help to open bugs when you encounter such pages. See bug 481359 comment 15 (and other comments in that bug) for why the mouse spinner icon was removed.
