User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. I get this error on 3 different computers. One had XP pro the others win2k. Intermittent problem. One might think the problem is specific to hardware. Seems to be specific to the firefox browser. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. There is no way to recreate the error as it is totally random. 2. 3. Actual Results: I had to reinstall firewall software running locally on the workstation. In this case it was zone alarm. Running Firefox without firewall software resolves problem. Ask user to shut down firewall software. Running Firefox without firewall software resolves problem with Firefox in this particular instance. This happened on my win 2k workstations. Firewall software must be uninstalled and machine rebooted. Install firewall software and that will fix the problem. In a different environment at work I get the same error running win xp pro. There is no local firewall software running on the workstations. Desktops running in windows classic mode. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1

see if you can ping a website in DOS. If you get a reply then your problem is not a connectivity issue. All connectivity issues must be addressed before trouble shooting any software. You also might want to see if you can get the IP address of a website and enter the IP address in the address box of firefox. If still no luck then uninstall firefox. Download latest version. Reboot. When you get to the desktop shut down or disable anti virus and or firewall software BEFORE installing firefox. Also make sure you are logged in with administrative privileges. If you follow all this and it still doesnt work you may have more than one antivirus firewall app running on your machine. Keep in mind AOL has McAffee built into the AOL software. Be good and stay outta trouble.
No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.13 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
