Details

Steps to reproduce:
Highlight enough text that it causes your scrollbar to scroll down.
Release the mouse pointer.
Try to scroll up or down.
*freeze*
I'm using linux build 2000083106 (comm build).
seems it's the same freeze that appears when you click link to a bug in
bugzilla. (when i break/continue it, this appears (amongst others) before it
continues:
(gdb) continue
Continuing.
[Switching to Thread 1961 (initial thread)]

Program received signal SIGINT, Interrupt.
0x805164f in basic_nsAWritableString<unsigned short>::do_AppendFromReadable ()

(non-debug)
this is really more a blocker than merely critical.. i've had 15 freezes in no
time, can't do much sensible at all.
Perhaps related: I can't move off an entry field in Request Tracker (perl web
application) without invoking a hang. And when I tried to search for bugs in
Bugzilla, I got to the "Please wait..." page, but then mozilla hung. This all
started today. Have built daily from CVS for at least two months; never saw this
before.
upgrading to blocker - this really does make the product unusable.
Severity: critical → blocker
Keywords: dogfood, nsbeta3
i think this is a dup of bug 50910
this appears to be fixed in the later build 2000083111
