Using Netscape 6 build {2000080720} and Mozilla build {2000082903} Mail.

There are several cases where the buttons in the Navigation Toolbar "flicker"
depending on what processes are occuring in the background. The buttons'
availability seems to be tightly mapped to the processes, so that while a user
is waiting for an action to complete s/he sees various combinations of buttons
"flickering" between active and inactive states. For example, when a user
deletes a message with the Delete button, the Delete button and the Reply, Reply
All, and Forward buttons all briefly dim and then return to their normal state
once the message is deleted. There is no need for the Reply, Reply All, and
Forward buttons to dim; if a message is in the process of being deleted a user
can't simultaneously try to reply to or forward it. The buttons also flicker
while the inbox is loaded.

Recommendation:
The flickering buttons make the application look broken. The user only needs to
know that the application is working on something at a high level, they do not
need the GUI to be mapped to the background processes at such a granular level.
Implement the Navigation Toolbar buttons so that they do not flicker. If a
process takes more than half a second to complete, then use a stopwatch cursor
to inform the user that the application is still busy.

Reporter: Are you still seeing this bug with current builds?
Asking since I doubt it is a bug anymore: modern skin has had two complete
overhauls since it was reported. WFM, Linux.
Marking WORKSFORME this is gone long ago.
