User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; WinNT4.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.20) Gecko/20081217 Firefox/2.0.0.20
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.22 (20090605)

Allowed update when prompted, failed w/ "Exit other programs" msg. No option to abandon update; even if update manually killed, Thunderbird only restarts it. Bug #1 - sb able to use it to get help.
update.log contained "Execution failed" w/o reason. Had approx 14 Mb free on E:\..\Thunderbird. Bug #2&3 - should check space beforehand & report reason for failures, pref not so deeply hidden.
Freeing 6 Mb changed failure to "Can't copy - 28" on later file, unfortunately thunderbird.exe, which was not restored (Bug #4) so ended update loop. Couldn't even reenter updater.
Found update.exe but couldn't get args right b4 messing up such that reinstall was best way out. Suggestion: update.exe w/o args should work.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Component: Installer → Application Update
Product: Thunderbird → Toolkit
QA Contact: installer → application.update
