When composing email messages sometimes a notification is presented, such as "Unable to save your message as draft". However, as the popup dialogue closes on any keypress, the user who is composing inadvertently closes the dialogue without having a chance to read it.

It doesn't react to "any" keypress, only the usual ones for dialogs. (Esc, space, enter)

I will update the bug title to reflect that information, thanks. At the speed that I type, it was not obvious that the dialogue was only responding to certain keypresses.

Present a notification that does not grab focus. For instance, Firefox has a notification feature that drops down into the webpage viewed (the save password and install addons features trigger this feature). That could be repurposed in the Compose window.
