After setting cookies exceptions in fireflox 5 the work is lost when you close firefox. Upon re-opening the exceptions are gone and you would have to set them up again!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.set-up cookies execptions (unwanted ones)
2.save and exit Direfox
3.re-open Firefox. The exceptions are gone
Expected Results:
cookies exceptions retained

Having "Site Preferences" checked in the "Settings for Clearing History" window
would cause this.
The coolies I want to keep are properly retained wheb clearing history as I do not clear cookies. I would like the 'blocked' cookies to be retained as such as well.

I have been losing SOME cookies using Firefox 3.5.2
I define cookies to accept by entering the Website address to "Allow", using Tools -> Options -> Privacy (tab) -> Exceptions (button, right of "Accept cookies ...").
In previous versions of Firefox these entries were maintained, but in the current version some entries may disappear from time-to-time.
I can supply more detail about my option settings upon request.

I can also reproduce this problem - suggested fixes do not work.
Michael Ryan is right: In the "setting" for privacy, a new checkbox "site preference" has been ADDED in recent versions, and is CHECKED by deault, causing the cookies exceptions to be deleted.
All you have to do is to UNCHECK the "site preference" checkbox, and your cookies exceptions will be retained.
I wish some notice of it would have been highlighted when it was introduced as it caused me so much grief and inefficiency having to delete unwanted cookies every time I closed firefox in order to protect banking information. What a relief not to have to do it again.
THANK YOU so much Michel Ryan for explaining the simple fix!

After reading the above comments, I looked at my Privacy Settings. I have the Site Preferences box unchecked, and my list of cookie exceptions appears to be retained.
However, in saved form data (login) account names will disappear from time to time. When I enter them again, they may be retained for awhile or disappear by the next use of the form. Does this mean that cookies are not being preserved, even though the exception list itself is being preserved?

I've just reinstalled Firefox to see if it would help but it didn't. That checkbox isn't checked by default for me and the problem persists. Running Windows 7 and latest version of Firefox.
