I use Windows XP

This seems a bit different than the other reported bookmark bugs.  I DO have Bookmarks.  However, when I attempt to bookmark a new page, it does not appear anywhere.  Also, when I try to use Organize Bookmarks to place a new bookmark where I want it, I do not get the list of bookmark locations I used to get.  Instead, I get something called "Library", which doesn't give me options to store the new bookmarks.

Oddly enough, I also don't have History available anymore.  The same "Library" appears, with no possibility of getting any history information.

All this seems to have occurred after I returned home from a long stay in a hospital.  A few people had access to my computer, and may have accidentally (or intentionally) made changes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Bookmark any page
2. OR, try to obtain history.
3.
Actual Results:  
A function called "Library" appears.

Expected Results:  
Should have bookmarked a page, and if using Organize Bookmarks, I should have list of favorites into which to place the new bookmark.  Also, when using History, I should get the history of pages visited.

Was the last version of Firefox you remember using 2?  Firefox 3's bookmarks and history handling is very different.  The "Library" is expected.  There should be a History item at the top of the left pane when you open it.  Alternatively you can click History > Show All History from the menu bar.

First, thank you for telling me that Library is expected.
 
However, I do not get History when I click the History item at the upper left, or when I click Show All History on the tool bar.
 
And Bookmarking gives me a thing to fill in with the info of the page to be bookmarked ... but then no bookmark shows anywhere even when I fill in all that info.  For some reason I doubt I should need to fill in that info just to get a bookmark made, especialoly if no bookmark then appears.
 
Do you know anything else I might try?  Like maybe go back to an earlier version of Firefox?

First, try starting in safe mode with all add-ons disabled.

Somehow I managed to delete all my previous bookmarks.  Not sure what else I deleted.  Look, I don't want to seem ungrateful, but I will just get rid of Firefox and use Internet Explorer.  This ain't a religion to me, and I want things the way they were.
