51029 - Mozilla crashes on launch while still on splash screen

							Gets as far as "Component registration finished," then crashes (while 
still on the splash screen) with an error of type 2.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
							Launch browser

Actual Results:  							Crashes on the splash screen; unexpectedly quits.

Expected Results:  							Should open a browser window!

							New iMac DV+ running Mac OS 9.0.4; exactly the same error every 
time with M17, Netscape 6PR2 and the latest nightly build (8/31/00).  
Probably only crashes on my system (hate those!), but I don't have 
anything out of the ordinary installed....

have you deleted previous installs including your User50 dir in /documents and
the mozilla registry in /preferences?

Yes.  Deleted Preferences/Mozilla Registry, Documents/Mozilla, and the 
Mozilla application folder, and unstuffed it again.  I haven't installed 
MacsBug on this machine yet; I'll do that today and let you know what it 
says.

which build are you using, the MacInstaller or the regular .sea.bin version?

Hmm, interesting - I had been using the regular .sea.bin build 
(mozilla-mac-M18.sea.bin) but just tried the MacInstaller version 
(MacMozillaInstaller.sea.bin).  The MacInstaller version works just fine; the 
sea.bin version still crashes with the same error.  I had been using the 
sea.bin version of M17 as well.  Definitely a bug in the sea.bin versions, 
but I can use Mozilla now; yay!

Oops, my bad.  Today's (9/1/00) sea.bin runs fine, as does today's 
MacInstaller.  Yesterday's (8/31/00) sea.bin still crashes, as does M17 
(mozilla-mac-M17-TB.sea.bin).

now.  If you see this problem again please reopen the bug.  Thanks again for
your help in testing mozilla and reporting bugs.
