User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1
With auto updating turned off firefox 3.5.1 won't update to 3.5.2 manually. There is no warning that anything went wrong, leaving the user with the impression that they have protected themselves against the latest security threats when they have not.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Tools > check for updates
2. Updater finds 3.5.2 > click 'update firefox'
3. Updater asks to restart firefox > 'restart firefox'
4. Check version on restart, it won't have changed
Actual Results:
Updated failed with no warning.
Expected Results:
Firefox version updated, or at least a warning that the update failed.
If there is something else related to this bug I have no idea what it might be.

I already went and downloaded the full 3.5.2 in order to update. Nothing showed up in the error console, but if it doesn't save between restarts/updates then it wouldn't anyway. Just now I tested a vanilla 3.5.1 install on a xpsp2 VM, it updated fine.
If it happens again with the next update I'll cycle through my plugins etc til I figure out what it is.
