Implementing can prevent emberassing moments when entering an URL when other are watching too and Firefox is suggesting URLs you visit privately which you rather not reveal to your audience. This isn't a duplicate of bug 510480, but it is a duplicate (just don't have the bug # handy)

How is it not a dupe of 510480? (They may both be a dupe of something earlier but there's certainly not a lot of difference between the two reports as far as I can see)
This is asking for sites (I'm taking sites as a given page), and the other is asking per domain.
What I mean with this request is everything between the 'http(s)://' or 'ftp://' and the next '/' (if there is any). Possibly one could include the 'http(s)://' or 'ftp://' in the list for which not to omit autocompletion to be able to be more specific. If no protocol is specified, that would mean, omit autocompletion for all protocols for that host.
Shawn: I'm not sure how you match that definition of site with #c0 but nm...
As far as I'm concerned, this can be closed. I'm using the setting that Firefox will only auto-complete from your bookmarks, which solved the functional need.
