After the update to the next version of Firefox, the browser restored a year-old bookmark file instead of the most recent bookmark file, and I've been unable to restore the most recent file.

Reproducible: Always

1. Happens every restart

Old bookmarks in place instead of most recent

Expected Results:  
Restored the most recent set of bookmarks

You upgraded from FF2.X or FF3.0.X ?

To 3.5.2 from the version immediately preceding

this is probably a combination of bug 462366 and bug 508265.

can you compare you old bookmarks with bookmarks contained in bookmarks.html file? i suppose they will be the same.

Have you tried restoring bookmarks from Organize Bookmarks / Restore?
