Sometimes it's the mail I right-clicked before, sometimes the one I clicked to close the context menu and sometimes another one. Sometimes even no mail is selected. It was an IMAP account, I didn't already test this for POP accounts. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click a mail folder to display the list of mails in it. 2. Right-click a mail in it to display the context menu. 3. Click on any other mail in that folder. Actual Results: A random mail or no mail is selected. Expected Results: The mail you clicked should be selected. New Thunderbird 3 beta 3 installation with an IMAP and a POP account. Running Windows 7 RC1.
Worksforme in IMAP and POP and local folders in today's nightly on Win/XP: the one that's selected is always the one that was selected before the right-click.
I agree to comment #1: I think this is invalid. It seems that that point 3. in STR not make effect, but click on point 3. close context menu. After this if you click on a row, you can select a message.
They're both right. #1 Phil says it's the one that was selected before the one with the context menu. That's correct. #2 Aureliano says you can select a message after the context menu closed (so select the message with two clicks). That's correct, but not nice and not how it should be.
using current trunk I don't see any randomness either. iirc there are other bugs which mention "how" right and left click should behave - perhaps it's among https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&short_desc=right%20click%20left&bug_severity=major&bug_severity=normal&bug_severity=minor&bug_severity=trivial&bug_severity=enhancement&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr&type0-0-0=nowords&value0-0-0=count%20counts&resolution=---&resolution=INVALID&resolution=WONTFIX&resolution=DUPLICATE&product=Core&product=MailNews%20Core&product=Thunderbird but I wouldn't count on it.
