User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.2) Gecko/20090729 Firefox/3.5.2

The 'Check for updates' function is unavailable for non-admin Windows users. As a home computer security manager, the lack of information for non-admin users when updates to Firefox are available makes for a more insecure computer. The greyed out function should work similar to the process experienced by an admin user, but trigger the prompt for the admin password to install the update. If the admin password cannot be entered then an option to hide the update message should be given with a warning that your browser is insecure until the update is applied.

It is better to give the information, and ask the user to do something than just hide it away. The security update feature is why the Secure IT Foundation (www.secureitfoundation.org) recommends Firefox, and I hope we don't end up regretting it due to this security feature not informing the user of the problem.

Repeatable for Windows, Mac, and Linux in testing, hence change to all. Example given for Windows 7 RC1.
