User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.13) Gecko/2009073022 Firefox/3.0.13 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.22 (20090605) When I receive an e-mail with multiple attachments, at least one of which is large (multiple MB), the attachments normally do not fully download. If I drag an attachment to Windows Explorer, only a partial download (often 0 or 28 kb, sometimes much more) will normally take place. Multiple attempts will eventually get a complete download of the file, but I must attempt to open each file after each download attempt to see if it is complete. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Receive an e-mail with multiple attachments, at least one of which is large (multiple MB). 2. Drag an attachment from the e-mail view to Windows Explorer. 3. Check file size and attempt to open. If the file is incomplete, drag attachment again until a complete download occurs. Actual Results: I received an e-mail containing an HTML message and two attachments: an Excel file of 43.5 KB and a zipped file of 9.82 MB. I dragged the Excel file to a subdirectory of "My Documents" while holding down the "Control" key to create a copy of the file. A file of 28.0 KB was created, but was incomplete and would not open. I repeated the drag and created a second file of 28.0 KB. The third attempt yielded a file of 0 KB. The forth attempt downloaded the complete 43.5 KB file. I then dragged the zipped file and created a file of 636 KB which was incomplete and would not open. A second effort yielded a 2,076 KB file. The third attempt got 2,300 KB. The fourth attempt got 1,788 KB. The fifth attempt 1,660 KB. The sixth 2,140 KB, etc. The 10th attempt yielded a complete file of 10,064 KB. Expected Results: I expected a complete download of each file for each drag-and-drop attempt. The problem does not occur when using the "File...Attachments" menu. Only drag and drop seems to create a problem. If I attempt to drag and drop without holding down the control key, I receive an error message indicating the file is in use by another program. When holding down the control key (getting the "+" indicator for making a copy of the file) the download will occur but is often incomplete.
Are you using imap or Pop ? do you download messages or Headers only ? Next time this happens could you peek into Tools -> Error Console and see if there are any messages in it ?

I'm using a very typical POP mail server. I download messages from the server and delete them from the mail server after download. The download from the server to Thunderbird appears complete. The drag-and-drop download from Thunderbird to Windows Explorer is incomplete. I reproduced the error several times and checked the error console. The error console doesn't contain any messages for several of the partial file downloads, but some of the partial file downloads generated two types of errors multiple times for multiple lines: Warning: Unrecognized at-rule or error parsing at-rule '@font-face'. Declaration dropped. They aren't. Wayne ideas ?
This problem is similar to Bug 471304 except this problem has affected dozens of files while Bug 471304 was related to only one specific file. The other bugs on the list seem to be different.
(In reply to comment #5) > This problem is similar to Bug 471304 except this problem has affected dozens > of files while Bug 471304 was related to only one specific file. (I could be wrong but) suggest team up helping on getting Bug 471304 fixed and if your issue isn't fixed then reopen this bug
